News: Apple Releases iOS 12.4 Public Beta 3 Today for Software Testers

Apple released the third public beta for iOS 12.4 on the afternoon of May 28. The update arrives roughly three hours after Apple published 12.4's third developer beta, and eight days after 12.4 public beta 2. At this time, it seems beta 3 is a minor update for 12.4, which itself is a small upgrade to iOS 12 as a whole. We expect iOS 12.4's shining feature to be Apple Card support.Although the developer beta dropped around 1 p.m. EDT (10 a.m. PDT) we still don't know Apple's official take on the software. The company has yet to publish the release notes, which means we don't know all of the little changes that may or may not exist between iOS 12.4 beta 2 and beta 3. From our own testing, however, we see no major features or changes.Unless you're one of the limited participants involved in its testing, you won't have access to Apple Card — Apple's Apple Pay-ready credit card — in iOS 12.4 beta 3. For now, we all need to wait for iOS 12.4's proper release and the official unveiling of Apple Card to the public.Considering beta 3's lack of surface-level changes, we don't expect the release notes to be much different from previous iterations. Check out beta 2's release notes below for context:OverviewThe iOS 12.2 SDK provides support for developing iOS apps for iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch devices running iOS 12.4. The SDK comes bundled with Xcode 10.2.1 available from the Mac App Store. For information on the compatibility requirements for Xcode 10.2.1, see Xcode 10.2.1 Release Notes. GeneralThere are no SDK release notes for this software update. To download and update your iPhone to iOS 12.4 public beta 3, you'll first need to be a public beta tester with a valid configuration profile. If you have iOS 12's "Automatic Updates" enabled, you can let the software update overnight. To install right away, head to Settings –> General –> Software Update –> Download and Install, then follow the prompts.
