How To: Get the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update Early on Your Samsung Galaxy S2
If you have the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100) and are sick and tired of waiting for the Jelly Bean update to hit your device, you're in luck—XDA-Developers member izap has leaked what appears to be the final version of Android 4.1.2 for the S2.The update is supposed to be officially pushed out to users by the end of this year, but if you don't feel like waiting until then, you can download and flash the update, which you can see working in the video below. Please enable JavaScript to watch this video.
As with any leaked firmware, there are always things that can go wrong, so download at your own risk. But according to people who have tried it, this one seems pretty safe. Just make sure to back up your data since flashing will wipe your device. You can find the original download files on XDA-Developers, but they're all individual downloads and can take quite a while to get past all of the links and ads. SamMobile has a single-file version, as well as the following flashing instructions:Unzip the file. Open Odin 3.04 (already included in the firmware package). Restart phone in download mode (Home+power+vol down). Connect phone and wait until you get a yellow sign in Odin. Add CODEI9100XXLSJ.tar to PDA. Add MODEMI9100XXLS6.tar to PHONE. Add CSCHOMEOXXI9100OXXLS1.tar to CSC. Make sure re-partition NOT ticked. Start flash, sit back and wait a few minutes. You can also find faster downloads by some XDA members in the comments (here's one in Google Drive). If anyone decides to give it a try, be sure to let us know how it works!
